Anthracite coal has been used as a heating fuel since the early 1800s and still today remains an economical fuel source for residential, commercial, and institutional heating. Anthracite coal produces the lowest cost per BTU and more consistent, even heating compared to other fuel sources. Southern Maine Renewable Fuels is pleased to offer home delivery of Blaschak bagged stove, nut, pea, and rice coal. Unlike wood pellets, anthracite can be stored outdoors and is not affected by weather conditions such as moisture.
