Anthracite coal has been used as a heating fuel since the early 1800s and remains an economical energy source for residential, commercial, and institutional heating. It produces the lowest cost per BTU and offers more consistent, even heat compared to other fuel sources. Southern Maine Renewable Fuels is pleased to offer home delivery of Blaschak bagged stove, nut, pea, and rice coal. Unlike wood pellets, anthracite can be stored outdoors and is not affected by weather conditions such as moisture.
